JLPT Test Preparation in Nepal

JLPT

What is the JLPT?

The full form of JLPT is the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, which aims to evaluate and certify one’s proficiency in the Japanese language, who is not a native Japanese speaker. The JLPT is jointly conducted by The Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services.

JLPT certifications have a wide range of benefits, spanning from academic credit and graduation certification in schools to favourable treatment in companies as well as social recognition of the qualification. The results of your JLPT are used by recruiters in Japanese companies and are also a basis for determining your pay scale and promotion. As a result, if you want to study, work, and live in Japan, the JLPT will open the right doors for you.

How is the JLPT score calculated?

First of all, the JPLT measures your Japanese language competence using 3 elements: Knowledge of language (including vocabulary and grammar), Reading, and Listening. The test is available in 5 levels, namely N1, N2, N3, N4, and N5. Here, the N4 and N5 levels assess basic Japanese comprehension, which is mostly learned in the classroom. Likewise, N1 and N2 levels assess understanding of Japanese in a variety of real-life scenarios. Finally, the N3 level aims to fill the gap between N4/N5 and N1/N2.

A machine will score the answers on your JLPT. The JLPT uses scaled scores to reflect Japanese language proficiency more accurately and fairly at the time of testing. Scaled scores are calculated using the equalization approach and allow for measuring on the same scale regardless of test time. The JPLT also offers a JLPT Can-do Self-Evaluation List so that test-takers and others can use it as a reference to understand and interpret what a test-taker of a specific level can do in real life.

If you are curious to start your Japanese language journey, we can help you get the right JLPT books, learn JLPT basics, fill the JLPT exam form, conduct JLPT practice tests, and do anything else that you need.
